# GitLab

> Let the agent read your GitLab projects, and start flows from GitLab events.

## Overview

The GitLab integration lets the agent read your GitLab projects (merge
requests, commits and code) and start a flow when something happens in them.

Example use cases:

* **Update tests from a merge request.** When a merge request opens, the agent
  reads its diff, updates the affected test cases, then runs the ones it
  changed.
* **Write tests for a merge request.** When a merge request opens, the agent
  reads what it changes, writes new test cases for it, then runs them.
* **Explain a failed test.** The agent reads your code to tell a real bug from
  an outdated test.

## Before you start

* You're an admin or owner of your vikingQA organization.
* You have a [gitlab.com](https://gitlab.com) account that can see the projects
  you want to connect.

## Set it up

    Open **Organization settings → Connectors → Available** and select
    **Connect** next to GitLab. Approve the request in GitLab.

    Open **Project settings → MCPs** (the tools the agent can use) and select
    **Grant access** next to GitLab. Pick a group, the projects the agent may
    read, and what it can do.

Next, [start a flow from a GitLab event](/flows/gitlab-events).

## Disconnect

Open **Organization settings → Connectors → Active**, select the GitLab
connection, then **Remove**. This removes the webhooks, revokes vikingQA's
access to GitLab, and removes the connection from every project.
